Terms & Conditions
Last updated: June 2026
1. About Us
TJ Towbars Ltd is a mobile towbar fitting business operating across Kent and the South East of England, based in South East of England.
By requesting a quote, making a booking or using our services, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
2. Quotations
All quotes provided — whether by phone, email or through our website — are estimates based on the information you supply. The final price may vary if:
- The vehicle details you provided are incorrect or the vehicle has been modified
- Additional work is required that was not apparent before inspection
- The towbar type required differs from that originally requested
Any changes to the quoted price will be communicated to you before work begins. You are under no obligation to proceed if the final price differs from the estimate.
3. Bookings & Appointments
Appointments are confirmed once we have agreed a date, time and location with you directly. Please ensure:
- The vehicle is accessible and available at the agreed time
- You or an authorised adult is present or has given prior consent for work to proceed
- The fitting location is safe and reasonably accessible (level ground, adequate lighting if applicable)
We reserve the right to reschedule appointments in the event of adverse weather, vehicle access issues or circumstances beyond our control. We will notify you as soon as possible if this occurs.
4. Cancellations
If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please give us as much notice as possible. We ask for a minimum of 24 hours' notice where possible.
We reserve the right to charge a call-out fee if we arrive at the agreed location and are unable to carry out the work due to reasons within your control (e.g. vehicle unavailable, incorrect details provided).
5. Payment
Payment is due upon completion of the fitting unless otherwise agreed in writing. We accept cash, bank transfer and card payments. A receipt will be provided upon request.
We reserve the right to charge interest on overdue payments in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
6. Warranty
All towbar fittings carried out by TJ Towbars Ltd are covered by a 12-month parts and labour warranty, subject to the following conditions:
- The vehicle has not been involved in a collision affecting the towbar or its mounting points
- The towbar has been used in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and within its rated capacity
- No modifications, repairs or alterations have been made to the towbar or electrics by a third party
- The fault has not arisen from normal wear and tear
Warranty claims must be reported to us promptly. We will assess the issue and carry out remedial work free of charge if the claim falls within the warranty conditions.
This warranty does not affect your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
7. Liability
TJ Towbars Ltd carries full public liability insurance. However, we shall not be liable for:
- Any pre-existing faults, corrosion or damage to the vehicle that affects the fitting
- Indirect or consequential losses arising from the use of our services
- Loss of use of the vehicle during any warranty repair period
Our total liability to you in connection with any claim shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific service giving rise to that claim.
8. Your Vehicle
By booking our service, you confirm that you are the registered keeper of the vehicle or have the owner's authorisation to have work carried out on it. You are responsible for ensuring the vehicle is in a roadworthy condition prior to our visit.
9. Data Protection
We collect and process your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and UK GDPR. We will only use your information to fulfil your enquiry and any resulting booking.
